On draft day, should we avoid Arian Foster like the plague?

Postby danleroi22 » Tue Aug 20, 2013 8:28 am

Looks like his injury could work it's way into the the regular season, and then perhaps even then he won't be 100%

My question is, how much does this lower his draft value? Are you willing to bump him down your draft board because of this, or should we remain optimistic about this season? (is he still a 1st round pick in your league?)
Questions or Comments? Feel free to PM me.

I know that I've been given more than beyond measure.

1st rounder? Yes! Top 3 pick as of today, no. Keep an eye on his news... things seem to change over night for some camps. If your drafting tonight you just gotta trust your gut here... Id probably take him @5 if he fell there... If he misses week 1, he's prob still worth it. BUT any more negative news and... he's a late 1 at best.

I don't think it lowers him that much yet since we still have a couple weeks until the regular season, however if you are going to draft him you sure as heck better draft Tate as well.

I'm staying away from this guy .. He has BUST written all over him .. I'll gladly pickup Ben Tate .. He's a borderline RB1 if Foster doesn't play

I don't know if he has bust written all over him, but his amount of carries over the past few years added to his constant nagging injury problems flag him for me. I won't touch him, unless he falls to me in the 2nd round. But I will grab Tate on a later flyer.

Personally, I take him 9th overall. I think he has the capacity to go bust this season, but I also think that if he doesn't he's going to be very good. And as anyone who owned Brady in '08, anyone can be a bust in a fantasy season.

With that said, I really like Tate whether I own Foster or not.

I have him in my keeper league so I have the luxury of avoiding him in my 2 other year-to-year leagues! ;-D

Seriously though, reading today I'm a little more optimistic about Foster because it seems like the news sources are downplaying his injuries some. But we all know how the NFL is about revealing injuries. So yes, the unknown factor knocks his stock down a couple notches but I'm gonna take him all day if he gets to pick 5.
