What to make of Chris Ivory?

Postby Favre.com » Tue Aug 27, 2013 8:30 am

Against all logic I am heavily targeting Ivory as a sleeper with huge potential this year. I see the Jets relying heavily on the run and giving Ivory 225-275 carries (if health allows). The dude is a monster thats hard to tackle and has proved capable while at NO. Powell may eat some carries away, but I see Ivory being used as a battering ram inside the 10 and see 1300 total yards and 8 TDs as a possibility.

Am I completely insane? I was ecstatic to nab him in the 7th of my money league.

He has potential to be a 3 down back, but being a good running back in the Saints offense versus being good in the Jets abysmal offense is 2 different things. Plus he is rarely healthy.

If he is healthy, he will get a ton of carries, which is more than you can say for most of the backs going in his range.

In the 3 preseason games I have watched - I have not been impressed. I think Powell is going to be the one with the majority of carries. The dude is a legit 3-down back and is pretty nice in open space. Oh, and Mike Goodson just got suspended for 4 games today.
A win next week and all is forgotten.
