should this be vetoed?

Postby tantrix1969 » Tue Aug 27, 2013 11:01 pm

ok so a startup keeper league I'm commish of has the following trade up for review and couple guys think it should be vetoed, just wanting to get some other opinions as I hate vetoing any trade. This is an new ESPN 12team 4keeper league with standard scoring and roster spots except for a OP(offensive position & can be qb) spot so there is possibility of starting a 2nd qb.
The trade is-
STON traded Trent Richardson, Cle to JGP
STON traded Ed Dickson, Bal to JGP
STON traded Jeremy Kerley, NYJ to JGP
JGP traded Steve Johnson, Buf to STON
JGP traded DeMarco Murray, Dal to STON
JGP traded Matthew Stafford, Det to STON

the team trading Trent missed draft and really needs a qb so imo he's trading off his stud for decent guys something I've done numerous times in the past so didn't think this trade would get objections it has, so what do yall think?

What's the basis of everyone's discontent with the trade? It certainly looks lopsided at first glance, but if it looks like both owners' rosters will benefit from it and there's no collusion you have to let it go through.

If it's not collusion, nothing should ever be vetoed

Absolutely no reason to veto - tell the guys to look after their own teams and not try to manage other owner's teams.

I'm sure it's not collusion so I saw no problem since it helped both teams, guessing it is just the initial knee-jerk "trade is lopsided" mindset is the reason have guys opposing it, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks everyone

The trade is very lopsided and just because there isn't obvious collusion, doesn't mean it shouldn't be vetoed if it changes the dynamic of the league.

The team getting Murray, Johnson and Stafford is winning this trade big time.

Richardson was a top 10 pick and we are only 2 games into the season. This trade is not that lopsided, and it would be a crime if it got vetoed. The ONLY reason to veto is collusion. Any other reason is unjustified and is the result of the commissioner trying to own his league.
