Noob with the 8th pick, 10-team standard league

Postby jcgoble3 » Thu Aug 29, 2013 10:03 pm

Starting lineup: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, K, DEF (no flex)

1. (8) Trent Richardson (Cle - RB)
2. (13) Stevan Ridley (NE - RB)
3. (28) Julio Jones (Atl - WR)
4. (33) Dwayne Bowe (KC - WR)
5. (48) Montee Ball (Den - RB)
6. (53) Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)
7. (68) DeSean Jackson (Phi - WR)
8. (73) Lamar Miller (Mia - RB)
9. (88) Tavon Austin (StL - WR)
10. (93) Greg Jennings (Min - WR)
11. (108) Denver (Den - DEF)
12. (113) Ben Tate (Hou - RB)
13. (128) Brandon Myers (NYG - TE)
14. (133) Jay Cutler (Chi - QB)
15. (148) Tampa Bay (TB - DEF)
16. (153) Mike Nugent (Cin - K)
17. (168) Tyler Eifert (Cin - TE)

A few of these (notably Ball in the 5th) were freak autopicks; for some reason my DSL connection picked tonight of all nights to become unreliable. *grrrr*

Self-analysis: I think I waited too long to take a TE; I was the last team to do so, and a couple had taken a TE2 before I got a TE1. May need to look into possibly upgrading that position via trade. Otherwise I think it's decent, but what do I know? I'm just a n00b here.

What do you guys think?

I'd say you have a solid team, you drafted really well for a rookie lol. I wouldnt stress your TEs, after graham they might as well all be the same. Just keep your eye on the waiver wore and grab someone who starts killing it. Overall you did good and with good in season management id bet you make the playoffs.

Mind giving my team a once over? Somehow my link won't post below so it's up top lol

Thanks. I'll see what I can do with yours, but I'm still learning so I don't know how much help I'll be.

8th, actually. I wanted to take him in the 5th but got hit with the dreaded autopick when my internet connection burped, and needed to use the next couple of rounds to address a couple of other positions. For some reason he was still hanging around when my 8th-rounder rolled around, and I had to take him. I don't understand why he lasted so long either.
