Draft in 30 minutes. 7th pick, 6pt passing TDs. Who to pick?

Postby maj0819 » Mon Sep 02, 2013 6:33 pm

I have the 7th pick in a 10 team league. Standard scoring except for 6 pts for passing TD. This makes the QB position very important. Example, last year Brees and Rodgers scored 431 and 421 points respectively whereas Adrian Peterson had 307. Those extra 2 points per passing TD add up over a season. Do I take Rodgers or Brees at #7 if they are there or go RB and hope to take one of them at pick #14?

Start: QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, Flex, Def, K.

First question, what's the scoring difference between say Brees and manning or Rodgers and Ryan? You are not likely to get either of em after the turn. Last night I took Rodgers at 9 and ray rice in round 2. That was a 12 team PPR league. SECOND QUESTION, is ur league RB heavy? If there's no RB u like for the value would it be worth it to grab a TD machine WR like megatron or Bryant or green?

Brees 431 vs Manning 384.... Rodgers 421 vs Ryan 368, Brady 406. These are all 2012 results. I would not say RB heavy. If both Rodgers and Brees are still there I may roll the dice and select my RB and then hope one of them drops. I would grab Megatron if he was there but have a feeling he will not be.

Btw-if something drastic happens and u have to wait on a QB, Romo may be an awful real life QB but he's got the easiest strength of schedule this year. Just food for thought.

Spiller fell to me at #7 with Rodgers going #2! I chanced it by not taking Brees and got him with my second round pick #14. RB has some upside with Bernard and Bell so I need one of them to perform. Took a chance on Cameron at TE. No one was left. Thoughts?

This is my team:

QB: Brees
RB: Spiller
RB: Lacy
RB: G. Bernard
RB: Leveon Bell
RB: Woodhead
RB: Bernard Pierce
WR: Julio Jones
WR: Amendola
WR: T.Y. Hilton
WR: Tavon Austin
WR: Antonio Brown
TE: Jordan Cameron
DEF: Patriots
K: Justin Tucker
