How did I do??

Postby Diefer87 » Thu Sep 05, 2013 11:21 am

12 Team, NON PPR. Roster Requirements - 2 QB, 3 RB, 4 WR, 2 TE, 2 K, 2 DEF, 1 FLEX (Any). Starting line up must be - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF

Scoring - 30 pass=1 pt, pass TD =4 pts, 10 rush/rec = 1 pt, rush/rec TD = 6

I drew the 8th overall pick in a snake draft, how do you think I did?

#8 Trent Richardson RB CLE
#17 Maurice Jones-Drew RB JAX
#32 David Wilson RB NYG (Didn't see a WR or QB I liked here, and I love Wilson's upside)
#41 Torrey Smith WR BAL
#56 Russell Wilson QB SEA (Got a jump start on the QB run about to take place, we had a guy grab Newton in the 4th and then he turned around and grabbed Stafford in the 5th, with at least 5 teams still without a QB, I wanted to jump on one here instead of going WR like I wanted to.)
#65 Antonio Brown WR PIT
#80 Reggie Wayne WR IND
#89 Jay Cutler QB CHI
#104 Brandon Pettigrew TE DET
#113 Denarius Moore WR OAK
#128 Houston Texans DST
#137 Danny Woodhead RB SD
#152 David Akers K DET
#161 Zach Sudfeld TE NE
#176 New York Giants DST
#185 Shaun Suisham K PIT

So overall, here's what my roster ended up looking like;

QB1 Russell Wilson
QB2 Jay Cutler

RB1 Trent Richardson
RB2 Maurice Jones-Drew
RB3 David Wilson
RB4 Danny Woodhead

WR1 Torrey Smith
WR2 Antonio Brown
WR3 Reggie Wayne
WR4 Denarius Moore

TE1 Brandon Pettigrew
TE2 Zach Sudfeld

K1 David Akers
K2 Shaun Suisham

DST1 Texans
DST2 Giants

Thanks for the help with mine. In a non PPR I personally wouldn't have gone with T-Rich at 8, but your RB corps appear to be pretty strong. My only concern is that T-Rich and MJD have some injury baggage. Again my personal preference is to avoid those kind of guys with early picks, but there is a lot of upside potential there.

I like your WR although they would play much better in a PPR. Wayne and Brown might hurt you with the lack of TDs. I am not sold on Moore simply because he is a deep ball guy and Flynn has a noodle and Pryor is really raw.

Given the size of the rosters in this league I would guess you should have a strong team with some serious championship potential if T-Rich and MJD hit their upside and you get "lucky" with the TDs from your WR.

I agree with pcmIV and can only add that I am shocked that Sudfeld lasted that late in a 12 team draft. He's definitely got the ability to fill Gronk's shoes and then take over the Aaron Hernandez role once Gronk returns. Huge upside potential there.

Not terrible for the 8th pick but I personally would have made some different selections. You might be able to package together and Wilson and MJD or Wilson and WR to get better at RB or WR. But you did ok..

I like your RB's, Wilson is going to start off this season well now that his backup is hurt and will be getting the goaline carries. I am surprised Sudfeld lasted that long, you scored on that one. I would think about trading a RB for a WR. Maybe take advantage of Wilson until his backup comes back in about a month or so and he starts losing those goaline carries.
