No. 1 Waiver Priority - who do I pickup? WHIR

Postby DirtbagsFTW » Tue Sep 10, 2013 10:55 am

OK so got the no. 1 waiver priority. Looking at either RB Joique Bell or TE Julius Thomas. .5 PPR here is my roster

Really it comes down to: is Julius Thomas is significantly better than Bennett and an every week start, or is the upside of Joique Bell a better prospect?

QB Stafford
WR AJ Green, Roddy White
RB Jamaal Charles, David Wilson
TE Martellus Bennett
Flex Wes Welker
BENCH
Sudfeld (gonna drop him)
Ivory
Montee
Cecil Shorts
Pierce
Hopkins

I do like Joique, but I cant see a scenario that any opposing defense would say "yeah forget that Demariyus character, Decker who? Welker.. he's too old, lets stop Julius Thomas first and worry about the rest later." I think Julius will be a weekly starter based purely on the lack of running game in Denver and the fact that he will be overlooked by opposing defenses.

help with mine?

Thanks for the help with mine.

Gotta agree here, Thomas is the better buy. You'll have a weekly starter with him, whereas Bell's value will be dependent on Reggie Bush's health -- could be great, but could also have a lot of dud games.
BOLD PICKS FOR 2013
A. Rodgers outscores D. Brees in ESPN standard scoring by 40+.
D. McFadden plays 16 games (but ineffectively for someone whose only problem we always assumed was health).
M. Lynch=not a Top 10 RB.
V. Cruz=Top 7 WR.
G. Tate=Top 36 WR.

Make that three for Thomas. I have Bell in one league and I really like him but I think Julius will give you more reliable points in a really potent offense. Help with mine please.viewtopic.php?f=18&t=537897

Honestly, I would probably go with J. Bell. Mostly for the fact that I think Bennett might be a more consistent TE than Thomas will be this year. I see Bell helping your team, especially is David Wilson gets less carries because of his fumbles.

thomas has much higher season especially if manning plays lights out all season. thomas is a starter for you all season whereas you might be subbing bell for wilson and vice versa. you might be better off getting handcuffs for wilson.

thanks for your help with mine

it would be nice to wait a week or two if possible (but thomas won't make it past this week)

I would go with J. Thomas as well. Reggie will be a big part of that offense in Det and Bell won't be used consistently.

Manning has always liked throwing to his TEs. I don't think you're going to get a week in/week out moderate to big performance with J. Thomas, but consistent enough that he would be an upgrade for you.

Please take a look at mine, Thanks
