Sproles/Hartline FOR Ridley/Decker?

Postby taw856 » Tue Sep 10, 2013 11:20 am

Already accepted a trade offer of MY Darren Sproles and Brian Hartline for HIS Stevan Ridley and Eric Decker because it seemed like a no brainer to me, but just curious if the consensus agrees. This is a standard scoring CBS league, i.e. non-PPR. My roster after the trade looks like this...

QB: C. Newton
RB: Ch. Johnson, S. Ridley, (R. Mathews), (D. Wilson)
WR: Ca. Johnson, T. Smith, E. Decker, (G. Jennings), (L. Moore)
TE: J. Thomas, (B. Pettigrew)
K: M. Prater
DST: Lions
A. Rodgers outscores D. Brees in ESPN standard scoring by 40+.
D. McFadden plays 16 games (but ineffectively for someone whose only problem we always assumed was health).
M. Lynch=not a Top 10 RB.
V. Cruz=Top 7 WR.
G. Tate=Top 36 WR.

It definitely was a no-brainer for you.

In a non-ppr, Ridley has far more value than Sproles, sure he was benched last week but with Vereen now out a couple weeks he should return to form.

Decker is definitely an upgrade over Hartline, he will get his share in that offense, I mean I'd rather have a player with Peyton throwing to him than Tannehill.

Yeah you made the right move for sure, Sproles is a fringe starter in non-ppr formats and Hartline is not going to be as consistent with Tannehill throwing him the ball. Nice move for sure.

I think you got a steal. Ridley ran for 1200 yards and 12 touchdowns last year. I'm not saying that he'll put up those numbers again, but the guy is too talented to not put up some good stats. You know that there will be plenty of red zone opportunities with Brady driving the team down the field.

I have Decker on my team, so naturally I'm trying to convince myself that he'll have a good season. He might not get 13 touchdowns again, but I think he could get close again. His poor stats the other night weren't because of Manning ignoring him. It was quite the opposite, actually. Manning will continue to look for him and he wont' let a TD slip through the fingers again. I think he has a bounce back week in NY.

Good deal. Ridley was in the doghouse for fumbling but now that Vereen is injured Pats have no choice but to turn to him. Decker and Hartline are both inconsistent. But the Decker will outscore Hartline at the end of the season for sure. His ceiling is higher and his floor is higher as well. A+ on this trade ;-D
