Amendola/Jones/Tate for Cobb/Harvin

Postby Chicago 2 » Thu Sep 12, 2013 9:27 am

Y! 12 Teams
6 Pts for TDs
25 Passing Yds per Pt
10 Yds Receiving/Rushing per Pt
.5 Pt per Reception

Give:
Danny Amendola
James Jones
Ben Tate

Get:
Randall Cobb
Percy Harvin

This is tempting with Pierre Thomas sitting in free agency as a replacement for Tate. Any opinions to help me decide as I am biased towards Cobb and all :)

QB Russell Wilson
WR Victor Cruz
WR Danny Amendola
RB CJ Spiller
RB Stevan Ridley
TE Martellus Bennett
W/R/T Lamar Miller
BN EJ Manuel
BN Terrel Pryor
BN Ben Tate

I think I would lean towards taking it. Amendola is bound to get hurt at some point, in my opinion he will not play a full 16 games this season. Randall Cobb is worth it, and you can just do what you said in picking up Pierre Thomas to replace Tate.

If you don't mind, what other free agent running backs are available in your league?

Not much...

Shonn Greene
Daniel Thomas
Kendall Hunter

D. Thomas makes sense as well because I have Miller.

Hmmm..I'd still lean towards doing the trade and either pick up Pierre Thomas, or pick up Daniel Thomas as a handcuff to Miller (or vice-versa if Lamar Miller is still outperformed by Daniel Thomas in the next few weeks).

I'd do this in a heartbeat. Cobb is an upgrade, IMO, over Amendola--both in terms of talent and health. Harvin immediately becomes your flex play when he returns, giving you what will likely be the best receiving corps in your league by a wide margin. Jones and Tate aren't likely to play much for you and are not huge losses. I'd pick up Pierre over Daniel. No reason to handcuff Miller; that offense is a mess.
