RB2 slot help, 3 choices

Postby FirstCoast » Tue Oct 01, 2013 9:18 pm

ESPN 8 team standard scoring league.1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLEX, 1 DS/T, 1 K. 7 bench, any positions.

QB - Drew Brees, Michael Vick
RB - C.J. SPiller, Trent Richardson, Lamar Miller, Bilal Powell, Maurice Jones-Drew, BenJarvus Green-Ellis
WR - Brandon Marshall, Jordy Nelson, Marques Colston, Wes Welker, Eddie Royal
TE - Tony Gonzalez, Jordan Cameron
DS/T - Seattle Seahawks
K - Blair Walsh (swapping out due to bye)

Current starters are in bold. My question this week regards RB2. Which one would be the best start this week? I'm going up against the lone undefeated team in the league and need the best lineup possible.

Bilal Powell @ Atlanta
MJD @ St. Louis
Lamar Miller vs Baltimore

St. Louis has given up the most points to RBs this year. If you can trust him this week I'd start him.
In my league, Doug Martin is on bye so I am starting Bilal Powell. The matchup is okay, but he should be getting all the touches in that backfield so I'm starting him off of his opportunity. He could get 25 touches so I maybe lean towards him. It's hard to trust and play any Jaguars this year.

That's part of the problem, I've seen nothing this year to really get behind MJD. The matchup is great but then again last week was too from a YPC allowed standpoint. Miller shows some promise and is on an upswing but I don't like his matchup. Powell seems like the steady choice, but will Atlanta key off on the run and force Smith to pass?

I wouldn't be worried of Atlanta focusing on stopping the run. Their defense isn't to stout anyway. If you can't trust MJD I think you have to go Powell. He's the only real option in NY with Ivory and Goodson coming off suspension. He'll get goal line carries and he is involved in the passing game. He is the safe pick and should get 10 points in yardage. I'm trusting him this week.

I don't like any of the choices, but I would go with MJD just based on the match up

I would go with Powell. He has a decent matchup against Atlanta and will get a lot of touches.
