PPR--Keenan Allen or Edelman (WHIR 100%)

Postby Delhomme17 » Fri Oct 11, 2013 9:53 am

I'm asking this not because I think Edelman's PPR value is shot (low-end WR2/high-end WR3 going forward, IMO), but because I like what I've seen from Allen and the Chargers throw the hell out of the ball. Got Cruz and Green locked into two of my WR spots and Woodhead as my flex, so this is really my only lineup question for this week. Full PPR scoring with 1 point for every 25 kick/punt return yards.

I think with Amendola back and Gronk probably back, I'd go with Allen. Seems to be turning into one of Rivers favorites.

I was impressed with Keenan Allen last week. I would roll with him especially with Rivers looking rejuvenated.

With Amendola back, Edelman takes a slight hit. Allen should get some good chances with the amount of passes Rivers will throw due to the lack of no running game.

I've got pretty much the same decision.

Edelman looked awful last week. Yes, I know the conditions were terrible. But he had balls bouncing off his chest left and right.

He basically has no red zone appeal. His upside is extremely limited. Now Amendola is back. Plus, the matchup is not great. Plus, NE only chance is to play ball control and try to keep Brees from scoring 50 pts. I just have a bad feeling about Edelman.

However, he is still pretty safe. K. Allen looks great. But, he is still pretty unproven. With Edelman, you are pretty much guaranteed 8-10 pts. at minimum. With Allen, the floor is lower and the ceiling is higher.

My gut says K. Allen has the better day. But, if I need 8-10 and little risk, I'd go Edelman even after my rant.

The overall backfield issues in SD are making Rivers prove his moxy. I'd go Allen if you need 12 points. The Pats are going to get smoked! and Brady throw 50 plus times. So in packages with empty backfield, no Gronk. Edelman will get snaps, just not sure about yards, TD and being PPR ,receptions. I'd say 4 for 45 50 so maybe 8 to 9 for Edleman at best. Allen Has WAAAAAY more upside. Like a 70 TD
