Cam for Stafford straight up--WHIR 100%

Postby Delhomme17 » Fri Oct 11, 2013 11:05 am

My Stafford for his Cam. I'm leaning toward accepting this deal. I view the two as equals in terms of point production, and the average points/game stats agree with me--very slight edge to Stafford, but it's less than a point. Cam's legs make him a higher floor guy, IMO, but his supporting cast admittedly isn't as good as Stafford's. Also, and perhaps most importantly, Cam has already had his bye while Stafford has not. Since I don't roster a backup QB and Cam is a hell of a lot better than any waiver/FA guys, I think this aspect of the deal might be what turns it from a tossup to a win for me.

Anyone want to talk me out of this? If it matters, I'm 5-0 and he's 1-4 and the league is 12-team PPR.

I won't talk you out of it. I'd probably make this deal at any time. You may lose out on a few weeks, but you'll be better in the long run with Cam I think.

help on mine?

I wouldnt argue against the trade but I wouldnt argue for it either. I think these 2 are a wash. I would do it since you dont roster a backup. Cam had a slow start last season and then tore it up towards the second half. If you think that trend will repeat it self go for it

I wouldnt do this deal. I feel stafford is more reliable and steady than Cam though Cam might have a slightly higher ceiling. I might be biased toward Staff because I have him on both my teams but I also avoided Cam on draft day even though he was a top 5 QB according to rankings. Checking a few sites for rest of season rankings also has Stafford rated higher for remainder of season.

I say go for it mainly because you wont have to worry about the bye week than and the factor that the two are pretty equal. I do think Cam will start to produce more than he has so far in the coming weeks.

Thanks for your help.
I have concerns on both sides.
Stafford: Megatron has this knee issue. As we saw last wk w/ him out, the lions O sucks.
Cam: Terrible, unimaginative play calling. He is running progressively less each year.

I kind of feel it's a wash. Part of me would want stafford b/c he can throw for 5000 yds, and Cam hasn't really shown he is running it that much this yr. Hopefully they fire Ron rivera & dave shula or whoever calls the plays for them.

Bit of a toss up!
Gut says take stafford. But I see your point on the bye wk thing as well, so that kind of makes sense. And stafford tends to get hurt

It really is a toss up. Cam gets you running yards though and seems to be able to turn it up fantasy wise towards the second half of the season... that being said i have stafford in both my leagues and am quite comfortable with him.

Bumping this once. Still leaning yes. Agree that these guys are pretty much a wash, but I think the bye week situation makes the trade a win.
