Trade Fitzgerald/Bell for Doug Martin?

Postby mm92280 » Mon Oct 14, 2013 7:07 pm

I am in a 12 team H2H non-keeper league and, as always, I am looking for ways to improve my team. I've been kicking around offering up the duo of Larry Fitzgerald and Le'Veon Bell for Doug Martin. Martin is still getting lots of touches but hasn't exploded yet, so his price is probably a little lower than normal. Fitzgerald is a borderline WR1 whereas Bell is an unproven commodity with only 2 NFL games to evaluate but seems like he is going to touch the ball 20 times most weeks, which should translate to RB2 value. He's not dynamic like Charles or Spiller but you can't produce without carries & catches. I would still have 2 very good WR2s in Josh Gordon & Antonio Brown and I would have 3 legit workhorse RBs.

In general, what do you think of that offer? Is it too little to be taken seriously? Is it too much? I like Bell but would love a more proven commodity like Martin.

Here is my team, as it currently stands:

QB: T. Brady
QB: C. Kaepernick
RB: J. Charles
RB: T. Richardson
WR: L. Fitzgerald
WR: Antonio Brown
WR/RB/TE: J. Gordon
WR/RB: L. Bell
TE: J. Cameron
K: M. Bryant

Bench: B. Weeden (QB)
Bench: M. Glennon (QB)
Bench: B. Pierce (RB)
Bench: Z. Stacy (RB)
Bench: K. Allen (WR)
Bench: H. Miller (TE)

Thanks for the help!

I think it depends on how panicky Martin's owner is right now. If he is a 1 win team, I think he might go for this. I am not sure I would, but if I were on a losing skid I might. As for you, I think this would be a good deal. You might not be starting Fitz at this point, and Martin could be a top 10 guy again if Tampa gets it together. Bell is prob not going to be a top 10 guy no matter what.
