QB Help for Bye week WHIR

Postby big.d57 » Wed Oct 16, 2013 1:03 pm

Well I have Drew Brees and he is taking a rest this week. I had a chance to get Foles but missed out so now I'm left with the scraps of the WW.
Freeman, Glennon, Big Ben, Weeden, Geno Smith, Chad Henne. Who should I pick up? Leave a link.

I tend to try to focus on talent, though I do take into account matchups if the players are pretty close in talent. I definitely think that Big Ben is the top talent there, though he has one of the tougher matchups with the Ravens. That could easily be a 17-14 or 20-17 type of game.

I would say definitely no on Smith, Glennon and Henne. I would say no as well to Freeman, who has had minimal time to learn Minnesota's offense and I figure they would just lean heavily on AP to keep Freeman from screwing it up. Weeden has weapons (Gordon, Cameron) and is going to need to throw to keep up with Green Bay but I don't particularly trust him to not go out there and basically give the game away to the Packers. So, that leaves me coming back to Ben. I don't love the matchup but I just trust him more than the others.

In situations like this, I like to go for the best combination of talent and weapons. Like the poster above, I think Big Ben is the winner by both metrics.

Thanks for the help with mine.

Thanks guys, looks like I will be going with Big Ben. Hopefully, their O-line holds up against Dumervil and Suggs.

I agree with the other posts and think Ben is your best bet to start this week.
