PF and PA meaning?

Postby erokt151 » Tue Oct 22, 2013 8:42 pm

I've started a league with all my buddies this year and was wondering what exactly is the meaning of PF (points forward) and PA (points allowed). I haven't been able to get a straight answer and this is probably a stupid question.

Typically PF is points scored by your starting lineups vs. other owners, and is a year-to-date running total. Same with PA.

The significance of a host site tracking and listing these stats is so you can get a better feel for how strong a team is. Records can be deceiving. I am in one 12 team league where I am third in PF but only 2-5... I've had some bad luck, going up against a hot lineup in several weeks.

The other significant point is that many leagues use PF as a tiebreaker for playoff seedings.
