I posted on this a few weeks ago, but think things are starting become clearer now.
I see four candidates with the potential to win it:
Manning, McNair, Tomlinson, Priest
McNair was the favorite, but the injury is starting to really hurt his chances.
Priest, well, he was Priest.
Tomlinson, probably deserves this award, but could be hard for him to win playing on the Chargers.
Manning, oustanding season, and my prediction to win it, although I would go with LT2.
What are your thoughts?
Am I missing anything here?

manning should and will win, hes been amazing. LT hasnt had an MVP season, he hasnt led his team to victory and there are other backs putting up better numbers. He is an awsome running back but no MVP yet.
I would agree and say Manning. He is super consistent and he's a QB who win the MVP much of the time anyway. One could make a good case for Holmes, though.

Manning is the front-runner right now. But the race is so close that one bad game may cost him the award. Im surprised no one is talking about Trent Green for this award. He has quietly put up nice #'s this year and is a big part of the Chiefs success this year. Now he may not be MVP material this year but he should at least be mentioned in the discussion for MVP.

Yeah, he has put up nice #'s, but with Priest on the team, he won't get much consideration. Besides, Manning and McNair have put up better #'s than Green, and are probably the only two QB's that deserve consideration this year. However, Green should be considered right up there with Kitna as the QB that's performed best this year despite their somewhat mediocre expectations. Green had the better offense to deal with, and Kitna had the better recievers. Overall, I'd rate the AFC QB's this year:
Manning (simply put, #'s)
McNair (most efficient QB)
Kitna (Guy's been awsome, when no one expected it)
Green (Solid #'s without any great wideouts, but it helps to be up by two TD's by half)
As far as NFC QB's... I guess Favre, Hasselbeck are the class of the group, but neither beat the top 4 in the AFC.

Gotta add Cpepp to that list also
Im not saying Green should be the MVP this year, im just saying he deserves recognition for playing very well this year. He made very few mistakes. Everyone talks about Holmes on that team but Green has won many games for them this year.

I'd add C-pepp to the list too, but I live in Viking country, and the fans seem to want the guy crucified. I've found myself, as a Packer fan, in the odd position of defending Daunte to the Viking faithful all year. Culpepper's become the great "scapegoat of the year" up here. Just hope the organization has better sense than the fans, and keep him around. If not, bring on Ferotte, I need a good chuckle every week.
