How's this for a championship Sunday

I have been lucky that I am usually in the Championship game (knock on wood). What we do in our league is the two teams split the remaining pot (money), turn in a line-up (for bragging rights), then sit there and watch without any monetary meaning and enjoy the games, while talking sh** about all the losers in the league.

Done it both ways, but we always have everyone over for food and drink...and it seems more relaxed and easy going this way.

I would never do that idea, but I can see why someone would do it. I like to gut it out for the win myself so I need one more win and ill be in the championship.

Hey, I've got no problem with this, makes for a good party, and it's really not all about the money. Braggin' rights, that's what everyone is really playing for. Seriously, come league championship weekend, most owners would gladly give up the cash for the win.

If you split the pot, what's the point? Is it more important to play for pride than money? Then why play for money at all? It seems to me like a compromise that leaves an out for the loser; if I were playing for the money, I would've cared more and started so-and-so and not lost...blah...blah...blah. Football is a winner-take-all game, there is a clear cut winner and loser, no excuses. Sack up and put all of your chips on the table, it's the superbowl for crying out loud!
