In lieu of the Bartman incident and the death threats he recieved how many rounded to the nearest 10 will Carney recieve after missing that instantly infamous kick?

Seriously though what do you think the reprecussions will be for Carney, will he have his job next year in New Orleans?

Only 50? You shoud have added 50 plus in your poll. I'll bet everyone who voted for 50 would have picked 50+.

I am a Saints fan and of course i was shocked at what happened especially after THAT touchdown.

However Carney is a very good kicker who has been fine up until now. He will not lose his job as you can not blame a kicker for another poor season. Espcially when there are other more high profile failiures on the team.

I dont see how pro kickers can miss PAT's though but I guess nerves just got to him this time.

Don't get me worng I think they would be foolish to fire him, I was just posing a thought. The poor man hadn't missed an extra point in like 3 years 130+ tries. I think your right though MMH he was probably all pumped up from the TD then his nerves kicked in and he just shanked it.

Even the very best kickers shank about 1 in 100, and this was just a terribly unfortunate time for the odds to catch up to Carney. I would bet that after their initial dissappointment and anger wears off (say a day or two), most of the Saints players will only be feeling sorry for the guy. He's been a great kicker for them, and ultimately has won far more games for them than he has lost.
Never the less, DOH! ;-7

most people forget that every one of those 19 points is equivalent. he missed a PAT, but maybe the rest of the team screwed up a key 3rd down that would've lead to a TD instead of a FG, which would've made the situation irrelevant.

people always forget that a point is a point, whether scored in the opening play or the final seconds. it's just the player who scores in the final seconds is looked at as the hero.
