Pick the winners this week...Week 17

Postby emaja » Tue Dec 23, 2003 11:26 am

The winner last week was mannubhai with 122 out of a possible 136 points - nice going "man."

Another full slate of 16 games with week, so assign points (1 through 16, using each number only once) to your picks to win this week. Just like every week, give the most points to your lock to win and the least to those that are up in the air. You earn points only for the games that you pick correctly.

Example -

St Louis at Detroit 16 - would mean that you think the Rams could play their wives in their place and still beat the tar out of the Lions, and you get 16 points when they do, in Matt Millen's last game as Lions head goof.

Seattle 1 at San Francisco - would mean that you are unsure if the 'Hawks will ever win a road game, but since the playoffs are on the line, what the heck. You will get 1 point if they win.

The game is a weekly game and totals are not cumulative, so join in any week that you want to.

Here are mine for the week:

Buffalo at New England 8
Seattle 7 at San Francisco
Philadelphia 14 at Washington
Chicago at Kansas City 3
Cleveland at Cincinnati 12
Dallas 13 at New Orleans
Indianapolis 6 at Houston
Jacksonville at Atlanta 5
N.Y. Jets at Miami 11
St. Louis 16 at Detroit
Tampa Bay at Tennessee 9
Carolina 2 at N.Y. Giants
Minnesota 15 at Arizona
Denver 4 at Green Bay
Oakland at San Diego 1
Pittsburgh at Baltimore 10

I'll print out this thread at kickoff on Saturday due to the early games, so you can edit your posts until then.

Good Luck!

16-Rams over the Lydowns; Thanks for giving us another memorable year, you fu……
15-Colts over the Texans; Props on a great season Texans. Some real talent there.
14- Titans over the Bucs; Steve McNair, great arm, size, running ability & heart = MVP
13-Chiefs over DaBears; Preseason prediction of the year Priest when he said before the preseason that if you play ff, you should take him first. How can you not love a playa with all the tools and gives ff some play?
12-Bengals over the Brownies; Great coaching job, Marvin. Kitna helped. Lewises?
11-Ravens over the Steelers; Jamal Lewis, take 2,000 bows, you’ve earned every inch.
10-Iggles over Skins; Talk about a total team effort, team carried pro-bowl QB.
9-Panthers over Giant wimps; My most likely team to be upset in the first round.
8-Pats over the Bill; Co-MVP Brady, the oldest of the great young Qbs
7-Phins over Jets; Hoping for a upset to seal Wannstedt’s fate.
6-Vikes over the Cards; Only if Candy Moss wants to play, or Shipp will ground their playoff cruise.
5-Chargers over Raiders; LT you deserve so much more.
4-Jags over Falcons; Even Vick can’t keep Falcons interested.
3-Cowboys over the Saints; Carney won’t get chance to ruin another carnival ending.
2-9ers over C-Hacks; A waste of two seasons in the road rules losers bracket.
1-Packers over the Broncos; Favre fights off the MNF jinx to toss last minute game winning TD.

Thanks again ejama.

you gonna do any confidence spreads in the playoffs....? i know that ties would be a problem, but I was thinking, in weeks with four games, each person gets like 32 points to distribute, having to give points to every game, and not being able to reuse points... so you could have one game at 1pt, one at 2, one at 3, and the last at 26. If you so chose..... I dunno, you would probably still get a lot of ties.

13. Pats over Bills
6. 9ers over Hawks
12. Eagles over Skins
5. Chiefs over Bears
8. Bengals over Browns
4. Saints over Boys
14. Colts over Texans
7. Falcons over Jags
3. Jets over Dolphins
16. Rams over Lions
9. Titans over the now defunct Bucs
11. Panthers over the Giants
15. Vikes over Cards
1. Pack over Broncos
2. Chargers over Raiders
10. Ravens over Steelmen

Good idea! That might be cool. Let me think about it and see what I can come up with.
