Could A. Green be held out?

Postby 9er Fan » Wed Dec 24, 2003 3:37 pm

Pack fans (or anyone else with insight into this), I've heard there is a good chance (Philly winning on Sat?) that the Pack could clinch a playoff spot before their game on Sunday. If this happens, will Green play much/at all?

I could replace him with Onterrio...

I dont get it. What has Philly winning got to do with Green Bay clinching the playoffs or not. Packers have to win to have a shot .
Green will definetly play, but dont expect him to be huge. Denver def is pretty darn good.

Green Bay would clinch a playoff spot if Seattle loses on saturday. But, Green Bay could still win the division if they win on sunday and Minnesota loses on sunday. They play at the same time. So, in any scenario, I don't think Green Bay will let up. Perhaps, Davenport and Fischer will see more playing. But, they've been seeing more playing time for the last weeks anyways. Packers have already stated that wanted to reduce A.Green's carries to save him for the playoffs. Even so, he'll probably still end up 2nd in the league in rushing.
