Believe me, I am NOT getting carried away with the Pack. I've been watching football very, very closely for the past 15 years and you can't help but pick up on the trends, if you look at the signs.
Green Bay's problem early and thru the midway point of the season was stopping the run. They picked of Grady Jackson, DT, from the Aints, and you wouldn't believe the difference he has made. I think the defense went from like 26 overall to now around 15. Granted, his first game was against Philly, which the Pack lost at home, but they really won the game if you watched the entire game. They were up by 4 with 2 minutest to play and couldn't seal it. Green rushed for 193 yards, but GB had 4 turnovers to Philly's ZERO. In addition, Green Bay is now plus 12 over the last 4 games in the TO department. This means everything in football, especially playoff football.
Green Bay has won enough over the past ten years that I really avoid jumping on the bandwagon when they get in the playoffs. Believe me when I say GREEN BAY WILL BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN THE PLAYOFFS IN ANY STADIUM ACCEPT ST. LOUIS. The last time I was this confident was 1997 SB against Denver.
Like I said, I don't think they'll go to the SB, unless they face a team other than the Rams, but I WILL GUARANTEE THAT IF GREEN BAY FACES PHILLY IN THE SECOND ROUND, THEY WIN BY 7+ POINTS.
We all have our opinions, but sometimes even though the answers are right there in front of us, some can't see the light.
This is going to be a fantastic playoff season!!!
