It is hard to believe but true. One guy in a 10 man league had Priest Holmes, Jamal Lewis and still finished 7th. His other players were Hasselbeck, Bledsoe, W.Green, Hambrick, Gordon, Larry Johnson, Lavarenus Coles, Plaxico Burress, Tai Streets. At the time of the draft it looked like he was the team to beat.
But I won the league with Clinton Portis, Ahman Green, Randy Moss, Torry Holt, Amani Toomer, Moe Williams, Steve McNair, Heap, Marcell Shipp and some waiver wire one week wonders.

I won it with Deuce McAllister as my best back.

The guy with Holmes finished 2nd, losing to me in the superbowl

I lost in two leagues, with the champions both having Priest.
Note: in both leagues I passed up on Priest with 4th overall pick, and took Deuce. ;-7

Drafted LT at number 5. Played he and Stephen Davis for first half of season. Trades in weeks 6 thru 8 turned them into Ahman, Edge and Marvin Harrison to finish. Lot of (mostly) successful wheeling and dealing in the one league I won.
Strong draft alone got me to playoffs in 4 other leagues, but couldn't win it all.
Lucky to get into a league with guys willing to deal. I found it a lot more fun day-to-day than some of the others with no movement aside from FA/WW.

The winner in 3 of my 7 leagues had Priest. He was drafted 1st in one, 3rd in another and 4th in one.

Here's a very interesting site on the draft positions of the winners of leagues.

That is interesting. Not sure what to take from it besides: DON'T PICK SECOND! Nothing wrong with being around number 6, though.
