The Washington Post has learned that head coach Joe Gibbs will likely hire former Redskins' cornerback Darrell Green to be part of his staff. Green will likely be the defensive backs' coach, according to one source. Another source stated that Gibbs and Green are still discussing the potential coaching duties. Green, who was nicknamed "Mr. Redskin," played 20 seasons and 313 games with Washington.

The love-fest continues in Washington. Redskins' fans are obviously excited about Gibbs' return, and they'll be even happier now that "Mr. Redskin" is on board. Many of the current defensive backs in Washington already played with and respect Green, and this sounds like an outstanding move, should it go through.

Not a bad move at all. Green is one of the best to ever play the position. Also he was the one that made Bailey the CB that he is today so he is a good teacher too.

he won't take the coachin job, but he will probably be hired as a consultant, or advisor. He is very respected and very well liked by everyone.

Hiring Green would be a great move. Hell, the guy could probably still cover better than a lot of the corners in the league. It looks like Gibbs may be on track to fix that mess there.
