Uncovering old memories: The NES

To help jump-start the brand spankin new video games thread, I'm gonna ask for everyone's fondest memories of the very first "grey box" - the Nintendo Entertainment System. I remember playing Super Mario bros 1-3, Bucky O' Hare (remember them), those teenage mutant ninja turtles, Zelda, Double Dribble, Battletoads - Double Drags to name a few...ahhh man those glorious memories...

Super Mario 3...ah i remember that one, that may be the best game ever made, they just dont make them like that anymore. Also Tecmo Bowl was great, with Bo Jackson who was unstoppable in that game.

I loved mario bro's, my friends and I played that for days at a time, trying to finish it, seeing who could set the high score.

Trying to figure out how you got the maximum bonus points by jumping on the flagpole at the end LOL

;-D

We moved on to that kung foo karate type game.... for the life of me I cant recall its name now... had multiple characters, each had a special power, the Indian guy could stretch his arms and legs across the screen... what the heck was that game called ? they made a movie about it. :-? :-? :-? :-? getting old sucks ! :-t

Super Mario Bro's.....ahh that was a great game, my friends and I used to waste hours on that game.....how about trapping the turtle on the steps to get all the extra lives.

Homey.....that was Street Fighter.

But my favorite had to be the original Zelda.....

Does anybody remember the Atari 2600?

Yeah,it was mentioned earlier in another thread in this forum and I believe it's what inspired Deft to write this thread.

The whole evolution of video games/gaming is awesome and I've been there from the start. :-)

My bad.....I checked this thread first.

I remember playing Space Invaders at the rollerskating rink, hooked ever since.

I use to play Rygar from the old nintendo system....Another was Contra...I use to play the hell out of that...For some odd reason, I still remember the code that gave you unlimited ammo: up,up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a ,b, a , start. :-D ....Also played a ton of Tecmo Bowl where you coud have Bo Jackson and Marcus Allen in the same backfield....or use Lawrence Taylor on defense and block every field goal.....I also loved Double Dribble, where you could dunk from almost the 3 point line, and run up ungodly scores...RBI baseballl was also cool...It may not have had real players, but instead of "Paul Oneil" you get "O-paul" and other names similar to the real ones.
