A Different Team Next Season?

With the Eagles having been eliminated from the playoffs, you can expect a different team next season. Chairman/CEO Jeffrey Lurie and team president Joe Banner, frustrated at the team’s close-but-no-cigar finishes the past two seasons, may opt not to re-sign their high-profile free agents, including CBs Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor, RB Duce Staley and possibly even OLB Carlos Emmons, who had not heard from the team recently after starting negotiations on an extension this past summer. It’s likely that some of them will not be back, and it’s possible that none of them will return next season. If the team had been successful in its Super Bowl quest, it’s likely it would have restarted the negotiations with Emmons; it’s also possible that Taylor could have been kept, but Staley and Vincent would have been long shots at best.
