I love the ideas on here y'all...It works out that the thread has carried over to today, because I was planning on renting one last night, but a friend came over and we ended up playing madden all night and never made it to the movie store ...I'll probably make it to the movie store sometime over the weekend, so this might very well come in handy. I'm gonna have to save this thread. I go through different phases w/ my movie tastes. I love Cohen Bros film, Tarantino, Guy Richie, etc. I also totally dig a good comedy (especially dark alah Rushmore), I go through phases where I want to rent some old school classics such as the previously mentioned Dr.Strangelove (or Annie Hall) etc., go through horror flick periods(28 days later was cool), love a good sports movie like slapshot or The Program (this came out when I played FB, and pumped my whole team up after going to see it..especially Latimer), love the inspired movies (Dazed and Confused...another high school classic or The Big Lebowski /aslo great), love weird psychological movies (Pi,Memento,12 Monkeys) and most recently was in an independent film phase (most recently Crime 101). I'm suprised no one recomended Snatch or Clockwork Orange. Ok, about as broad as the horizon can get...if anyone has anymore, add em...Thanks again for all of the suggestions
Some Canacuna recommendations (some recent, some not so recent)...
(Added after writing to say that Buckychudd has awesome taste in movies. )
Adaptation
The Big Lebowski
Boiler Room (Note: Vin Diesel is only good in supporting roles)
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
Gattaca (surprisingly good for a sci-fi)
Glengarry Glen Ross
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy (only if you like the show)
L.A. Confidential
The Man Who Wasn't There (Coen Bros.)
Memento
The Million Dollar Hotel (I liked it, but everyone I know says it's too slow)
Office Space
Rounders (good poker movie)
Suicide Kings (Christopher Walken, Jay Mohr = goodness)
This is Spinal Tap (David Guest movie - "mockumentary")
True Romance (written by Tarantino - money used for Resevoir Dogs)
The Usual Suspects
In the first week of February, Lost in Translation and Ed Wood come out on DVD.
'CUNA-MANIA IS RUNNING WILD! "You will be a king here, instead of a peasant at the Cafe."
Pretty impressed with the choices here. Not what I would have expected from a bunch of fantasy geeks like us. Seems that, contrary to popular belief, fantasy football doesn't actually contribute to atrophy of the mind. On the contrary, I think these are some of the best movie choices I've seen from a semi-random and unaquainted group.
One more, Adaptation, the best screenplay of the past year. Not to everyone's taste, but hilarious for those with a slightly bent sense of humor.

Argh. Ed Wood has been "delayed indefinitely" at the last minute again. Some stores even have this movie... Maybe I can grab it off of eBay or something...
