Head coach Mike Martz told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that quarterback Kurt Warner will be with the Rams in 2004. With Marc Bulger taking over the team in week two, there has been ongoing speculation about Warner being traded during the offseason. "He's not going to be traded," Martz said. "Now, why would we do that? That absolutely makes no sense to me. Both those guys are terrific players, and you need two of them to win."
OUR VIEW
Despite playing well enough to be invited to the Pro Bowl and getting the Rams into the playoffs, there is no guarantee that Bulger will be the starter in 2004. Martz did not show a ton of confidence in Marc during the playoffs, and Bulger led the NFL in interceptions. Last offseason Martz tried to avoid controversy by naming a starter in March, but we would not be surprised if Bulger and Warner battle for the top spot during training camp.
