The world really doesn't need a remake of "The Longest Yard," but it's going to get one anyway.
According to Daily Variety, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Snoop Dogg have signed for the new movie, which is to begin filming in June. Daily Variety reports other rap stars and NFL players are to be cast in roles for the movie.
"The Longest Yard" in 1974 rested on the amiable charm of Burt Reynolds, who played a prison inmate who organizes a team of convicts to play a team of prison guards. The movie was filmed at the Georgia State Prison.
Eddie Albert played the bad guy warden whose aim was to have the guards win and break the spirit of the prisoners. Bernadette Peters played the warden's secretary.
The cast included Packers Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Nitschke, who played a character named "Bogdanski," and former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joe Kapp.
Ugh!

Not to go out on a limb or anything, but this movie probably will suck.....I'll watch it if it comes on tv and doesn't interfere with something of importance.
