Rice - 1 more go'round.

Ira Miller, San Francisco Chronicle

Even Jerry Rice can't play forever and, for the first time, he has put an ending date on his remarkable career. Rice told The Chronicle on Tuesday he will play one more year, preferably with the Raiders, and no more. He will retire after the 2004 season, he said. There was no equivocation in his voice. "I can tell you that," Rice said. "That's it. This will be my last year."

I'm happy for the guy. I hope Porter can emerge bigtime this year, as I think that could allow Rice to be a good to great possession reciever, and go out on a high note. Still runs great middle routes. Of course with Norv, Al, and the whole Raiders QB mess, who knows. I'm pulling for the guy. ;-D

Better than great. The guy is a legend. I wouldn't
be surprised to see some fireworks this year.

Funny, but I don't think he held on too long. 2004 seems just right.
