Lots of players bow out of the Alll Star game. I think the NFLPA encourages it, since many players have incentives based on being an All Star. 3 RB's get voted in, but 2 might bow out, so like 5 bonuses can potentially get paid to players. Even if they don't get a bonus, getting voted is a victory in itself, the game is unimportant, and letting another player play gives him the All-Star tag as well. It all counts in future negotiations, and the players have to help each other out.
