Coupla others:
Rice - should have retired before this year, love the guy to death but he definetly should come back for one more.
MJ - i have more respect for MJ than any other athlete but the Wizards comeback was just ill-advised
Hakeem - killed my Raptors cap

Take a leaf out of Barry Sanders book and retire as the best in the league. Strange Barry (apart from Jerry) is probably the only guy that could have pulled it off

I still say Rice is good for one more year......but Emmit shoulda gotten the hint last year.

Barry's retirement was fine.....but no championship, give me Elway retiring after two in a row anyday.

Don't say it's about $$, Emmitt has made a lot of money in his career and has made even more through his business moves. He will be fine for the rest of his life. He just loves the game and wants to play all he can. Also every yard of that record counts b/c Curtis Martin is slowly gaining and if healthy he could catch him in 4 years. IMO.

Cupla thoughts.

1. that means that he and Rice will go into the hall together.

2. I think it would be cool if he is willing to accept a backup position and mentor Shipp. If not he will only be a distraction.

Insert circus music here. Emmitt the Clown opts for one more go round. :-t :-t :-t
I am starting a move to petition the league to ban the public humiliation of once great players. You would think that a league that is so image concious would put a halt to such self-mutilation. Think of the kids; their only memories of Emmitt the Clown will be of some slow bald guy who got off the bench that one game and stumbled into the endzone, then wouldn't give the ball back. Where is your pride, Clownman?

...maybe all the Cardinal fans I know...lol.....but I agree, he is beat up bad....but in the same token the all time NFL rushing leader derserves the right to decide when to leave the game he loves.......Jerry I think still has game, and Barry was just stupid for not takeing what now belongs to Emmitt......and Jordan?????last year he might have not lived up to his own legend he created, but he was still better the 2/3's of the league...

The love for the game often burns inside these players longer than their bodies will let it...

In Emmitt's case, his career ended a season ago in Dallas. Yet he wants to keep playing, wants to keep making an ass of himself and crying on camera...
