Ramsey Irked By Interest in Brunell

Skins Spin Doesn't Fly with Ramsey

But while the Redskins attempt to heat up the trade discussions, they may also be stoking the flames of discord, with incumbent quarterback Patrick Ramsey apparently miffed by the possibility of being nudged from the top perch on the depth chart. The Redskins' first-round choice in the 2002 draft, Ramsey huddled with some Washington assistant coaches Monday and refused to be appeased by rationalizations on the potential Brunell addition.

The organization apparently is attempting spin control with Ramsey, especially since the Redskins were trying to fly under the radar on a proposed Brunell deal with Jacksonville. The young quarterback, though, is having none of it.

what expectations? im not sure what he ahsnt lived up to....

i actually wouldnt look to much into this. its more than liekly a sportswriter trying to milk this for all its worth. ive read alot of bs that these guys put out. ramseys a great guy and a team player, and will not shy away from competition. it may be frustraing for him, but im sure he would be a standup guy about it.

I think I would be pretty miffed too. You bust your ass all season long for the team and get the crap kicked out of you and then they bring in some new guy to take your job. He was doing realy good there at the begining of the season until the injuries and the lack of solid pass protection took its toll!!!!!!!!!!!!

ramsey is better than most think...he hasnt been given too much to work with...the coaching hasnt been good...after davis left he had no help his sophomore year and the O-line was in toruble...and on top of all that he was injured for awhile with all those hits...he needs some help to become better and he hasnt gotten much of it...though he still is a good QB, he just needs time now that the personnel hasnt helped much
