Head coach Dennis Green is not only sold on Josh McCown as his starter for 2004, but he's counting on McCown to be around for a long time. As such, Green told the East Valley Tribune that the chances of the Cardinals drafting a quarterback in the first three rounds are "slim." The Cardinals have the third overall selection in the first round. "Josh McCown, I think he is going to be a great one," Green said. "I think people have a hard time believing it, but when I buy into a quarterback, I really do. That's my track record. Nothing against Eli Manning or Drew Henson or Ben Roethlisberger, but we have to be sold on what we see a player do. The proof...will be how Josh McCown does over the next few years." Green did not completely rule out drafting a quarterback in the first round. The Cardinals will be in attendance for the Henson showcase later this week, and CFL star Ricky Ray came in for a tryout last week. Currently McCown and Preston Parsons are the only two quarterbacks on the roster.

I thought for sure they would drft Roethlisberger and still have him going to the Cards on my mock but this could throw a definite wrinkle into the draft.

I think pretty much everyone had Roethlisberger to the Cards in their mocks, this could certainly shake the draft picture up.

Who would they go after if not a QB? Sean Taylor? Winslow?

Dennis Green likes to focus on his offense, but I can't see them taking Winslow since they already have an above average TE in Freddie Jones.

On offense, maybe Robert Gallery? He could definitely come in and make an impact right away.

I've also read some rumors that San Diego is willing to trade their #1 pick. If so, maybe Larry Fitzgerald?

They could definitely use Sean Taylor's help, though.

Crazy stuff...

The cards are just crazy people. I heard rumors of Fitz going to the cards and he said he wouldnt mind going there. If not him then I'd assume theyd try to upgrade somehwere on defense.

I was especially impressed with the backward pass he made in the end-zone. :-b

Canacuna's Latest Fantasy Football QB Rankings...

1. Daunte Culpepper
2. Peyton Manning
3. Josh McCown

...The rest don't matter - you're pretty much screwed without one of these three on your roster.

I say they are just full of it. So much BS & smoke before the draft. They need a better QB for sure. Draft a 1st round QB or bring in a FA,something has to be done.

I can't really see the Cards taking Sean Taylor with Adrian Wilson and Dexter Jackson as their safeties. A trade to Pittsburgh who are eager to get Roethlisberger would be beneficial as they could then take Wilfork or Will Smith. They could also consider Udeze, but I think that #3 is too high for him.

Oh and I forgot to add to the original article.
