Henry and McGahee to share carries

Postby Roseman » Fri Feb 13, 2004 1:42 pm

News: The Buffalo Times reports new offensive coordinator Tom Clements says having both Henry and Willis McGahee "is a good problem to have."

Analysis: He and new head coach Mike Mularkey are studying the possibility of using both Henry and McGahee in the backfield at the same time

Hmmmm so there WAS a reason for drafting McGahee...to take away carries from their toughest player...I see.... :-t

I hate to be a hater, but what has McGahee proven exactly? I hope that I am wrong but I can see him being an injury prone player much easier than a dependable RB. To hear people talk he is a HOFer already.

Yea I don't like the approach. Henry is a quality back if given the oppoptuinity. We'll see what the year brings but I do think it hurts his attractiveness.

Man this pisses me off. I have Henry in my keeper league...I think I'll be takin a RB at number one overall now even though I am also keeping Portis and Rudi. Maybe Barlow will be available...did I mention I'm pissed? :-#

Like my main man deftdelivery always says; never listen to coaches. McGahee will only get as many carries as he earns. If he earns his way onto the field, he'll get some carries. How many remains to be seen. Maybe Buffalo will copy Carolina and Baltimore's success and run the ball often. 25-30 rushes a game with 10-15 rushes a piece is a good thing really. It gives you the opportunity to hold off on a 2nd round RB and pick up Henry in the 5th and get very good production for the draft slot.

I took McGahee 7th round in dynasty. Looks like a good pick now. Trade Henry.

like i have said for too long. the only thing he has proven is in college. But wait! why isnt LJ considered to be as good as him? LJ was better in college and hasnt done any less than mcgahee has except get himself on the IL! :-#

I'm with deft and Ghidra...

There's no way Mularkey will automatically put McGahee on the field unless he earns it.

Travis Henry is the Bills best player and has earned his role on the roster. McGahee is just a huge hype machine that hasn't done anything except hire a good agent.

I'll happily trade for Travis Henry in the league I'm in.
