The Yankers will pay more in luxury tax than most teams will pay in salaries!
There is hope for haters of the eivl empire;
First will Jeter agree to play 3rd, or will they have the better fielding ss play there. If so how many errors before Jeter starts to take heat.
Second, and more importantly, who is going to pitch? Seems like they have changed their philosophy and are going with a murderous hitting line-up, but their pitching will be suspect. I hope.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?

i dunno, the yanks get a guy who is 6 years older who wont be able to play SS and have to give up one of their starters. i mean A-Rod is beetter but Soriano is a guy who is still gonna bat 300 and get his 40-40. who plays second now for the Yanks? and who is in the rotation other than brown, mussina and Vasquez?
i heard the payroll is now 190 million and they have 6 of the 12 biggest contracts in baseball. ridiculous.

Yea, I agree with ya that I don't think it is that great of a trade for them, but it is the idea of them just being able to get the best player in baseball just like that. As far as the trade, I agree. I thought that Aaron Boone was a pretty good third baseman for them. I didn't think he needed replacing. Soriano is very young as you said and could get 40/40 any year. Didn't he have like 39/42 two years ago?
i heard arod was going ot play 3rd. if so, what a waste of a trade. thats just plain ridiculous that on of the two of the top SSs are going to be playing 3rd this is why baseball is going downhill and football uphill
