Third Time a Charm for Crouch?

Postby Canacuna » Sun Feb 22, 2004 5:50 am

It looks like he's going to take a shot at being a cornerback now...

Crouch Talks to Packers

ESPN.com wrote:OMAHA, Neb. -- Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch said Saturday he would like a third try at playing in the NFL, this time as a defensive back.

"It's a position I played in high school," said Crouch, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2001 as a quarterback for Nebraska.

Crouch said he's talking with Green Bay about a possible return. If things don't work out with the Packers, he said he would be interested in playing for other teams.

Why?

Postby stonecoldbev » Sun Feb 22, 2004 6:42 am

Terrific athlete. Why did he give up the life of a pampered pro athlete in the first place? With his speed and athleticism, he could be a special teams star, if nothing else. I think he'd be a great slot receiver -- think Jim Jensen with speed.

i dont know i already dont like this guy, with his try then walk away, this isnt what i want type attitude. the guy has the chance to play football and make lots of money, so he should play whatever the hell position anyone wants him to.

I don't want to rain on your parade, canatuna, but the hardest thing for an athlete to do is quit the first time. He's already crossed that barrier. The next time he quits will be much easier. This has "Gosh, I didn't realize that they don't pay you $800K for slinging fries at Wally's Burger World" written all over it.
