An update on the Feeley/Fiedler Dolphin QB situation

Postby Free Bagel » Sun Feb 22, 2004 9:00 pm

Looks like Fiedler will be released, and Feeley named the starter.

The details on the trade are:
Fins will send their 2005 2nd round choice to the Eagles for Feeley.
Feeley will sign a 5 year, $18 million deal with a $3 million signing bonus.

Ugh...

I think the Dolphins will have a QB battle this coming training camp for their starting QB among the three unbraggables.

Feeley is decent enough. His stats aren't anything to brag about (his TD/INT ratio isn't, either). Sage Rosenfels (sp?) has shown flashes of some competancy. I could also see them draft a QB like Drew Henson or Losman and have them in the mix, too.

Servicable

As I said before, an NFL team with a good D and strong running game needs only a servicable QB. Sucks for fantasy geeks, but NFL owners/coaches/GMs don't give a crap about us.
