Broncos...whats going on?

Postby BESMIRCHED » Tue Feb 24, 2004 7:25 pm

news comes out that portis is likely to be traded....then mike anderson request a release from the broncos....shouldnt he be happy that portis is going?...i mean he probably aint going to be the starter...but isnt being a 2nd string better than a 3rd string RB?

i really think q-tip is going to carry the load...he looked awesome when portis was hurt...

then denver signs al wilson to a contract extension...things dont look good for portis....

but the most important thing about this whole deal is....MY SIG...AHH

I really doubt "Q-Tip" will get all the carries next year. He looked good in his one start, but it wasn't against a subpar defense. Plus, I'm a little concerned about his durability, he's about 5'2.

If the Broncos don't obtain another RB, there will at least be an RBBC.

hey let them take greg jones with the 25th overall pick, or the 2nd rounder washington sends to them. hes a bruising back who would run well behind that line.

I guess we'll find out soon enough. S.I is reporting that the deal is done.

I'd say if Champ is worth 8mil. Portis at $300,000 thousand is way underpaid.

Yea, this is pretty interesting to see unfold. I doubt that Griffin can carry the load. I also am worried about Portis in Washington. Even after you get passed their O-line, I don't know if he can handle it. They play Dallas and Philly twice in the year, in Denver he played some of the worst rush Ds in the league. My other concern is that Gibbs will want to give him the ball 20-30 times a game. I don't know if he can handle that. He is a small back and does not have great endurance. After a big run last year he would have to come out for 2 or 3 plays. I don't know if he is the kind of back that is cut out to run 25 times a game. I guess we will just have to see though.

Don't worry besmirched, I can always make you a new one is Portis leaves.

Denver is reportedly big on Ahmad Galloway as well as Quentin. He'll be playing in NFL Europe this summer. I smell a RBBC.

If Denver can make Orlandis Gary look above average, they could probably make me look like Troy Hambrick, or someone as equally bad. Quintin Griffin showed some talent in college, and I'd be a fool to question Denver with the production they've received from less than talented RBs over the last few years.

...However, I'll say the same thing I did with Mike Anderson, Orlandis Gary, and Clinton Portis about Quintin Griffin...

...He can't carry the load. Now, he will become the next Barry Sanders with my luck. I'm horrible with judging Mike Shanahan's decisions...
