Portis has agreed to a 6 year 50.5 million deal with WAS and is just waiting for the trade to be signed off on according to Yahoo.

thats crazy, were on the brink of baseball...just a little more than his deal in denver :*) isnt this the biggest RB deal ever?

Well, there was a lingering doubt in my mind that this deal would fall through......but looks like both players have agreed to new contracts, looks like wins for everybody involved.

oh and its a EIGHT year deal, not 6. thats a big difference.

Man, are the Redskins turning into the Rangers or what?? Hopefully this time the money are shelling out will pay off for them. I hope Portis does well there, but I still think I might shy away from him this year at least.

The thing I don't understand is this: Portis had three years left on his contract at cheap value and said he would play in Washington under that contract--not hold out. And then they sign him to this huge deal? What the...????

Well, I don't understand the Brunnell deal either, but that's another story.
