oh and if yo ulook on espn. it says winfield is second guessing his decision and will most likely visit other teams before signing a deal.

yeah, this is terrific for Seattle. Their defense was non-existent last year, they couldn''t stop anyone. It's the only reason Seattle barely scraped into the playoffs. While improving their D is a priority, they cannot let their offence take a step backwards by allowing DJax to walk.

Seattle needs to keep D-Jax. They have their defensive ends looking pretty good with Wistrom and Okeafer. They still don't have anyone at defensive tackle, though.

Here's a little more info on the Wistrom signing...

SeattlePI.com wrote:The Seahawks filled their biggest need in free agency today by signing defensive end Grant Wistrom to a six-year contract.
The deal includes a $14 million signing bonus.

"From the beginning, the team that stood out as far as the opportunity to win was here," Wistrom said tonight during a hastily called news conference to announce the signing.

That's why, Wistrom said, he made the Seahawks his first -- and last -- visit.

I love this deal.

My clairvoyancy is chalking another one up too..

"Personally, I'd like to see Grant Winstrom as a Hawk. Kills two birds with one stone. Grant's a far better DE than Cochran, plus it wrangles him away from the Rams, regardless of wether they were going to sign him or not."

Hmm..Skins front office must have been peering through the bottom of a half-empty margarita glass..can't believe a player actually signed with a team not named the Redskins.

Here's the final details of the deal...

John Clayton wrote:The Seattle Seahawks on Thursday signed defensive end Grant Wistrom to a six-year, $33 million deal, including a $14 million signing bonus, ESPN's John Clayton reports.

Including the signing bonus that is the largest in Seahawks history, Wistrom will receive $21 million over the first three years of the contract.
