Fort Lee, NJ (Sports Network) - New York Giants receiver David Tyree faces drug charges after his arrest Tuesday for possession of about a half-pound of marijuana.
Tyree was driving with two other men when his vehicle was pulled over for speeding. Patrolman Cory Horton arrested Tyree after discovering an outstanding traffic warrant against him from Blairstown.
Horton then smelled what he believed to be marijuana, and after further interrogation of the passengers, the men turned over the drug.
All three men were charged with drug possession. Tyree posted $2,500 bail, and was released Wednesday night.
Tyree, selected in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft out of Syracuse, served mainly on special teams last year but caught 16 balls for 211 yards.
