San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Chargers Friday signed offensive lineman Mike Goff to a five-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
Goff, who plays both center and guard, had spent the past six seasons in Cincinnati. He started 61 of a possible 64 games over the last four campaigns, including all 16 last year.
"He's a physical player," said San Diego head coach Marty Schottenheimer. "He's a very, very tough and persistent player who can start at either center or guard. He's very physical and he's a hard-nosed tough player. He's just the kind of lineman that we're looking for."
The 6-5, 311 pounder was drafted by the Bengals with the 78th overall pick in the 1998 draft.
