San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - The San Francisco 49ers Friday agreed to terms on a five-year contract with defensive back Ahmed Plummer.
A first round selection in the 2000 NFL Draft, Plummer has started 59-of-61 games in his four-year career. He made four interceptions and led the team with 17 passes defensed in 15 starts last season.
"Having Ahmed back is a great signing for us," San Francisco head coach Dennis Erickson said. "It keeps our secondary and defense together."
Plummer has recorded 12 interceptions and 47 defended passes in his career. He led the 49ers with a career-high seven interceptions in the 2001 season.
