Man, I was hoping to see him go somewhere in the Bengal's division. When we were on defense and forced a 3rd down, we would call it "3rd and Artrell". To think he was drafted before fellow CB's Sam Madison, Brian Kelly, and Samari Rolle.

Maybe with a D line like they have in Carolina, he can become more servicable.

Hawkins Heads To Carolina
Agrees To Three-year Deal
Johnstown native Artrell Hawkins will play for the defending NFC champion Carolina Panthers next season. Hawkins told Channel 6 Sports Tuesday night that he agreed to a three-year deal with the Panthers. Hawkins' contract with Cincinnati was terminated last Friday in a salary cap move. He spent six seasons as a cornerback with the Bengals.
Hawkins met with the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday and was offered a contract, but decided to keep his options open. He said the combination of the opportunity in Carolina and the contract the Panthers offered convinced him to sign with the Panthers. He added that he's looking forward to playing in the NFC, and that he feels his style of play fits in well with the Panthers.
Hawkins was a standout at Bishop McCort High School and then starred at the University of Cincinnati.
