Randall Godfrey to Chargers...

Postby Canacuna » Wed Mar 10, 2004 6:14 pm

Yahoo! Sports wrote:The San Diego Chargers added their second free-agent linebacker Tuesday by signing Randall Godfrey to a three-year contract.

Godfrey, entering his ninth NFL season, had 59 tackles for the Seattle Seahawks last year. He started 14 games.

``I've really liked him for a long time,'' Chargers general manager A.J. Smith said. ``He's tough, physical and very instinctive.''

The Chargers are going to a 3-4 alignment next season, with Godfrey playing an inside position.

``He's someone who can help us right away when we plug him in,'' Smith said.
