dillon could be traded this weekend...

Postby Football Newbie » Thu Mar 11, 2004 6:52 pm

The News
Disgruntled running back Corey Dillon could have Cincinnati in his rear-view mirror before the weekend, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The Bengals and Raiders are closing in on a deal that would send Dillon west for a draft pick, believed to be in the third or fourth round, the Enquirer said.

Our View
The Broncos have also surfaced as a potential player in the Dillon talks, meaning the Bengals may end up getting a second-round pick in the deal if bidding starts to heat up. Both clubs could use a feature back of Dillon's talent, though the Raiders seem to be a better fit for his attitude given their track record of rehabilitating malcontents. You knew Dillon wouldn't be back in Cincy; now we're getting closer to learning the specific destination.

In my opinion, this would be a good move for both Dillon and Rudi fantasy-wise.

haha really? :-b

the raiders do seem to be trying to improve their team this year. dillon is a nice addition for them and should put up some decent fantasy stats. low end #2 and GREAT #3 if the move is made.

if god smiles upon me and he goes to denver, i think he could be top 10 with that system for RB's they got there.

actually I think if he goes to Denver he ends up sharing carries. Not a 50/50 mind you...but enough that I wouldn't assume there was divine intervention involved.

Just getting him out of cincy however resurrects his value.

A top 10 RB?
I have no doubt that he will not get any sort of chance at displacing any of them.

I said close to a top 10. I should have specified even more. I think anyone from 10-15 will be pretty close overall. I by no means, mean he will be an LT or a Priest.
