Owens Hearing Today

Terrell Owens will have his hearing held Monday to determine if he can become a free agent, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Ironically, it will be held in Philadelphia by a University of Pennsylvania law professor.

now im curious here...if Owens is disputing the trade to Baltimore because he wants to play for Philly, then why is his hearing being put in front of a "University of Pennsylvania law professor" in Philadelphia???

Good question, it was answered on ESPN the other day. When the guy was hired for the job they asked him if he liked the NFL, he said "No, I am a baseball guy myself." So unless he was lying, which at that time he had no reason to do, he doesn't care about the Iggles.

Actually, one of the reports explained that the arbitrator was selected well in advance to handle any such situations that came up this year. It just so happens he teaches at UPenn. If anything, I'd say it hurts Owens chances, because the guy may feel the pressure not to show bias for Philly, and in doing so end up not being as sympathetic to Owens as he would normally.
