Lions sign Bryson...SB here we come

Postby moochman » Tue Mar 23, 2004 12:32 pm

The Lions signed Shawn Bryson to a 2-year $1.875 mil contract today, according to Tom Kowalski from the Booth newspaper.

Bryson is entering his second year back from knee surgery and should have most of his speed back. He could actually be a decent back for them. They are still looking to land Hearst, and a RB in the draft may be a possibility. I would hope they ignore his fumbling tendancies and pick Tatum Bell. He is one of the few real burners, something the Lions have none of. Anyway knew you were all waiting to see where Bryson would go, so now you can sleep nights again. :-b

Yeah he does KG...but if they get Hearst I wouldnt count on it. This was a nice signing by them, now if they get hearst they could be a decent offense, with pinner learning under hearst. ;-D

I would touch a Lion's RB with a ten foot pole.

Shawn Bryson is a stud. With Orlandis Gary out of the way, I'd count on 1,459 rushing yards to go along with 676 receiving yards with a total of 19 overall touchdowns.

...or maybe he will be used in a third down role and Artose Pinner's value went up. Who knows with those sneaky front office guys in the Lions organization. Millen is a genius, f0 schizzle.

Canatuna you're killing me!
The word is that Bryson will be the primary and share time with Pinner if the Lions don't land Hearst. I would bet they do land Hearst and a full blown RBBC breaks out. That is unless Hearst has so much left that he is far and away better than Pinner and Bryson. With the improvement in the O-line and WR corps, the Leos could have a much improved offense. Problem is thier offense was so bad that a big improvement would still put them in the middle of the pack.

I might add that I enjoyed every minute that I had Bryson. It's just something about having a Detroit player ... ;-D

Bryson

This guy is big and fast, but still needs to be in the right situation. Mariucci loves to split carries among RB (at least he did in SF); let's hope he's changing his philosophy w/ this signing.
