Best RB's All Time

Postby stomperrob » Tue Mar 30, 2004 12:05 am

I decided to start a seperate one for RB's rather than put all positions together - hope ya don't mind. My choices:
1) Gale Sayers
2) Barry Sanders
3) Walter Payton

If you're wondering how I can ignore Jim Brown or Emmitt Smith, it's because it's my list and I can't stand either of those arrogant SOB's.

Any listing of the Greatest RBs has to include Jim Brown - whatever your feelings about him. He has the highest yards/carry of all the major RBs with 5.2 ypc.....even Sanders only managed 5.0 ypc.

1) Jim Brown - Just the greatest of all time, relatively short carreer of nine years.
2) Barry Sanders - The most elusive RB of all time.....wish the Lions would have let him play out his carreer on a good team.
3) Walter Payton - Sweetness.....
4) Eric Dickerson - Grace and power. Lost his effectiveness before the end.
5) Emmitt Smith - Many people would have him at number one. No doubt he is one of the greatest of all time, but benefited from having a long career on an exceptional team with exceptional teammates.

Sack, I don't wish to be insulting, but you're first name wouldn't be "Sad" would it? Faulk is a great back, but we're talking history here. This isn't as bad as whoever put Gannon and Warner on the list of greatest QBs of all time.

I'd put Faulk at the bottom of my top 10, I think
