I went with the Michigan boy, he has great skills and I think he can put it together this year.

Projections: 75 catches, 1050 yards, 7 TDs

Palmer will have a productive season. Bengals have offensive weapons now in CJ, Washington, Warrick, Rudi J and even the TE Schobel. Also, the O- line is developing nicely. Marv has the defense stepping up in a big way, (remember the game vs the Chiefs), who will get the ball back for the offense more often. This team is really shaping up. Palmer will most likely struggle during his first couple pro matchups but then he'll find rythm and post solid numbers.

I gotta vote for Suggs out of this group. With Garcia at the helm, the Browns finally have a solidified passing threat, which will keep defenses from stacking the line too much. Cleveland also seems intent on drafting a top O-lineman, which only bodes well for Suggs too.

Palmer is in the position to have a breakout performance, but there are too many nuisances involved in running the whole show as a QB that it takes time for anybody just about to get comfortable with the position. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll have some excellent performances in the 2nd half of the season.

Fantasy Football Leagues

Postby Confucius » Mon May 03, 2004 5:44 am

I have played free fantasy football for the last three years and finally won my first Yahoo league title last season. Now I think I am ready to compete for prizes and may join one of those leagues where one pays to play.
I am thinking about NFL.com because I played it before back when it was free. I looked at USA Today's site and they appear to have a good budget league run by CFM.
ESPN only awards T-shirts to league champs and some other leagues I looked at offer even less inspiring prizes.
Of course I will have my 4 free Yahoo teams again but which other online fantasy football leagues in 2004 look good to members of this distinguished forum?
(I prefer head to head competition rather than Roto.)

My thought process.

It won't be a rookie QB (X over Carson Palmer)
2nd year receiver on a team with all new everything? Nah (X over Brandon Lloyd)
Journeyman RB competing for carries with RB in contract year? Nah (X over Thomas Jones)

Basically came down to Lee Suggs and David Terrell.

I thought about the improving defensive division Suggs is in, the injury plagued o-line they had last year and couldn't give it to him.

David Terrell it is. Those 4th year WRs are supposed to be magical right?

I would say Terrell, he's had time to adjust to the league and if the Bears can get Collins he will do even better I believe. Rookies are rookies, very few produce.

I think that if the Browns can some decent O-line play Suggs can have a great season. Terrell should be a great WR but there have been questions about his dedication. Palmer has great weapons tto work with, but those weapons became great with Kitna at the helm. Palmer could hurt all their values. Jones is no better than the A-train, They will split carries, probably.

that is the key. last year, the Oline was injured throughout the entire season, including our verteran LT and rookie C. now everyone is healthy and ready to play. with a healthy Oline and a commitment to the power running game with new FB Smith, I can't see why the RB in Cleveland can't have a breakout year.
